Symbolic Links for DOS (23/1/99) 11K
Contains: Some will know that in UNIX and its clones (such as Linux) you can create an executable file which 'points' toward another program in a distant folder within a file system. This is a 'symbolic link' and it's always been lamented that similar things weren't available for DOS. Well this little program does something very similar. It allows the creation of small 'link' files that point to any executable file in any drive or folder. Has a memory resident component (small). Works well and is much faster (and sometimes more convenient) than BAT files. LN.EXE is the program itself; LINK.EXE and LINKS.EXE are 'links' to this file. One of a suite of programs from a German author. DOC included. Freeware.
GEM version 3.01 (19/3/99) 1.66 Mb
Contains: The complete set of installation disks for the last release of GEM, the pre-windows graphical user interface by Digital Research. Great to use if you want an alternative to windows, and need a file management interface that's fast and flexible.

Softy (22/1/99) 140K
Contains: Probably the only cheap Truetype font editor and creator around. Still a BIG job to do, but, hell, that's why we bought computers, right? Anyhow, this lets us all be creative typographers, of sorts. Shareware.
